Save the date

Save the date videos

A save the date has one job: get a date into someone’s calendar before they book anything else. Everything beyond the date and the names actively works against it, because the details will change and you will have to correct them.

Send it four to six months ahead — earlier if guests are flying, and much earlier if your wedding falls in a Bengali or Marwari peak season when hotels in Kolkata go early.

Getting it right

What goes on it

Two names, one date, and the city. That is the whole content. No venue (it may change), no dress code (it will change), no itinerary (it does not exist yet).

We can attach a calendar file so a tap adds it to the guest’s phone. It sounds small and it measurably works — a date in a calendar survives a WhatsApp archive clear-out.

When to send it

Four to six months before the wedding for a local guest list; six to eight if a meaningful share of the family is flying in from the Gulf, the UK or North America.

For a destination wedding, treat the save the date as the real invitation for planning purposes — it is the thing people book leave against — and send the formal invitation later as confirmation.

Upgrading it later

Both save-the-date designs share artwork with full invitations, so the invitation that follows three months later looks like the same wedding rather than a different one.

If you take a save the date from us and come back for the invitation, the artwork setup does not get charged twice.

Questions

The ones families actually ask

How much does a save the date video cost?
From ₹2,200. Both designs can be delivered the same day, and if you come back to us for the full invitation in the same artwork, the setup is not charged again.
When should we send a save the date?
Four to six months before the wedding for a local guest list, six to eight months if a significant number of guests are travelling internationally.
What should it actually say?
Two names, one date, one city. Leave out the venue, the dress code and the itinerary — those change, and correcting a save the date is worse than not sending one.
Can guests add the date to their calendar?
Yes. We can attach a calendar file so a single tap puts it in their phone, which survives a WhatsApp clear-out in a way a forwarded video does not.
