These terms, and who they bind

This site is operated by Elegant Invite Cards Services, trading as MakeMyInvite, 30/3B Chandranath Chatterjee Street, Kolkata 700025, West Bengal, India ("we", "us"). By using this site or commissioning work from us, you agree to these terms.

If you are commissioning on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

Reserving is not ordering

"Reserve this design" sends an enquiry. It is not a purchase. No payment is taken, no account is created, and nothing on this site is a binding offer to sell.

A contract is formed only when we send you a written quote — normally on WhatsApp — and you accept it. Until then either of us may walk away for any reason.

We may decline a commission. We do so a handful of times each season, usually because the date is too close to do the work properly, or because a script is one we cannot set well. We will always say which.

Prices and estimates

Every price on this site is in Indian Rupees and is the final figure — nothing is added to it at invoicing.

The figure the design page shows is an estimate expressed as a range, not a quotation. It is calculated from the options you selected and is deliberately a range because illustration load genuinely varies. A designer confirms a firm figure before any payment is due, and that firm figure is the price.

We may change published prices at any time. A price we have quoted to you in writing holds for 30 days.

What you have to give us — and the spelling clause

To make your invitation we need names spelled exactly as you want them to appear, ceremony dates and times, venue names and addresses, the language, and any photographs for photo or caricature add-ons.

Send details in writing, not over a call. We set what you send us. If a name, date or venue is wrong in what you supply, and it is reproduced faithfully in an approved draft, correcting it afterwards is a new chargeable job — not a free revision.

Spelling corrections raised during the revision rounds are free and do not count as a round. This is why we ask you to read the draft properly before approving it.

You confirm that any photographs, music or text you send us are yours to use, or that you have permission. You indemnify us against claims arising from material you supplied.

Revisions, drafts and delivery

A first draft is delivered within 48 hours of receiving your details, included in the price. Caricature commissions take seven to nine days because the illustration pass comes first.
Three rounds of revisions are included. Send changes in one message rather than five — it is faster for everyone.
Rush delivery is ₹1,200 for 24 hours and ₹2,500 for same day, subject to the day's queue.
Timelines run from when we have everything we asked for, not from when you placed the order.

Final files are released on final payment. You receive an HD MP4 and a WhatsApp-sized copy; where the design supports it, a print-ready CMYK PDF.

Who owns what

This is the part most studios leave vague, so to be plain:

The finished invitation	Yours. On full payment you may share, forward, post and print it as much as you like, forever, anywhere.
The underlying artwork, illustrations and templates	Ours. This is what lets us keep your setup on file and pick it up again when you come back for the reception card or an annaprashan two years later.
Your photographs and your text	Yours. We use them only for your invitation, and never as portfolio work without your written permission.
Bespoke commissions	Exclusive artwork can be assigned to you outright. It must be agreed in writing and priced separately, because it means we can never reuse it.

You may not resell our designs, pass them off as your own work, or use them as templates for other people's events.

We keep a watermark on drafts until final payment. Circulating a watermarked draft is not permitted.

Payment

50% on approval of the first draft, 50% on delivery. UPI, bank transfer or card. Full detail is in our Refunds & Cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms.

We do not take card details on this website and there is no payment gateway on it. Anyone asking you for card details in our name is not us.

This website

The text, artwork, code and photographs on this site are ours, except where credited otherwise. The articles in the Journal are ours; quote them with a link, but do not republish them wholesale.

Some Journal articles link to and credit third-party sites. Those links are for reference and are not endorsements; we are not responsible for their content, and several were written some time ago and may no longer be current.

We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Liability

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited — including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Subject to that, our total liability for any commission is capped at what you paid us for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — venue costs, catering, travel or lost time — arising from a delayed or incorrect invitation.

We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, including your own delay in supplying details.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Kolkata, West Bengal have exclusive jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force for your commission is the one published when your quote was accepted. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version.
